During COVID-19, you may be trying new recipes to cook. Consider cooking wild-caught salmon. Wild-caught salmon is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids play a key role in the health of your hair and skin and act as a natural moisturizer from the inside out. Our bodies do not naturally produce omega-3s and must be obtained from a plant or animal-based source. By incorporating omega-3 fatty acids into your diet, you may assist your hair with increased elasticity, nourish hair follicles and improve flaky/dry scalp. Consuming foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids may also help to reduce skin inflammation and dryness. Additional food sources include: mackerel, sardines, halibut, tuna, herring, walnuts, almonds, brazil nuts, and flaxseeds/flaxseed oil.
